When I first released Alpha Range on iTunes, I was frustrated that while it was relatively easy to find a good “landscape mode” tripod for the iPhone/iPod Touch, there were none to be found for the iPad. For the game to work properly, Alpha Range requires a proper mount for facing the camera at the wall and it just isn't reasonable to expect people to hack something together themselves.
Well, you can imagine my excitement when I was recently contacted by the makers of the Bridge C-Pod, which is a cost-effective universal mount for both tablets and smart phones. The Bridge C-Pod kit uses adjustable padded wires to securely “wrap around” your device and hold it in place. The adjustable wires are mounted to a lightweight frame, which has a 1/4 inch thread at its base, making it possible to attach it to either the included table-top tripod, or to the camera tripods that you may already own. This flexibility really makes this kit a bargain, because not only can you finally play Alpha Range with confidence, but you can more easily use your iPad as a tripod mounted video camera.
